![]() So again, I started all over erasing Firefox with all its user setting and profiles, re-installed it and used uBlock Origin this time as adblocker. Also my Macbook's fans became way noisier as the cpu got really stressed by some internal processes, caused by Adblock Plus. No surprise, if the advertising industry pays good money to get past the blockade. nothing helped, considered giving up at some point and using Safari instead, ughh.īesides AdBlock Plus started to let through more and more ads, even disabling the so-called whitelist didn't do anything at all. Tried all the fixes that were suggested, re-freshed Firefox, completely erased it and re-installed it, enabled multiprocess, disabled flash plug-in, etc. my eyes started to hurt from constantly watching the beachball of death spinning over and over :) scrolling up and down on websites became laggy and unresponsive entering text into the address bar became veeery laggy I've had the exact same issue, been using Adblock Plus on Firefox on a Mac for many years and somehow gotten used to Firefox getting ever so slightly slower and slower with suddenly by Version 54 everything more or lessed slowed down to a schreeching halt: If anyone can help on this issue please let me know as I still want Firefox to be my only Web Browser. It is very frustrating to see a top rated web browser doing such negative things. ![]() I already had lagging and freezing point while writing this issue. I would like to know what has happened to Firefox and it's gone from the best web browser to the well nowhere near its capabilities. I don't really want to go to Internet Explorer but I don't want to be waiting for ever or so it seems with Firefox to start working. I have never used Internet Explorer beforew and I had to get a friend to show me to work it and found that even with all the add-ons that I have on Firefox Internet Explorer was Extremely Fast. I require the adblock updates as without them I get all the crap from advertising and other rubbish. I never had any problems prier to 54 update. I had played around with disabling and enabling these add-ons and found that the updates of adblock is what makes Firefox to freeze and lag for about a minute before it starts working. I have found Firefox to be extremely slow from the time I open it. I never had any issues until I had upgraded to Firefox 54.0.1. I have been using Firefox for a very long time, I have three add-ons 1/ Adblock Plus 2/ IDM (Internet Download Manager) 3/ Personas Plus.
